Awareness is key. Learn about the critical state our country is in. The homeless situation in America is terrifying, and it is growing. An estimated 3.5 million people, 1.35 million of them are children, experiance homelessmess in a given year in the U.S. In addition, a study of homelessness in 50 cities found that in virtually every city, the city's official estimated number of homeless people greatly exceeded the number of emergency shelter and transitional housing spaces (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, 2004). This is America, how do we allow this to happen, and how can we change these statistics? I work for a company that provides a service to organizations involved in helping homeless people as well as people who need special services and are unable to recieve them on their own.
