It is not uncommon for many people to drink alcohol occasionally. Still there are those how drink moderate amounts of alcohol more frequently than that. Even knowing a habit is bad for us more often than not is not enough to motivate us to stop it.

While there are socially and legally acceptable or "safe" amounts of alcohol one can drink, any alcohol consumption comes with risks. Even with that said, about 1 in 3 men and 1 in 7 women drink more than the "safe" limit. If you are one that drinks above that limit and beyond, you may be increasing your chance for serious problems. Stop drinking now!

There are many benefits to be gained be quitting drinking. Let's look at just a few:

It decreases your risk of developing diseases such as cirrhosis, damage to the pancreas, heart problems, certain cancers, sexual problems, and other conditions. In general, the more effort you do to quit drinking, the lower risk of illness you will get. You an have a healthy body. You can get very well with your family, coworkers, and friends.

Best of all, you will begin to grow more sense of self worth. You will come to value yourself as a person, be worthy of your own love and others which will help you reach out to those around you. This all works to give your life meaning which is what motivates us to live life to its fullest.

You can get rich quickly. If you quit drinking today, you could reasonably expect to convert that choice into a bankroll for backpacking around the world in about six months.

You literally gain a new taste for things. Your appetite will return and with it, your muscle tone and health. You will drop off the extra pounds be eliminating all of the fat that alcohol contains.

Gain more time for yourself, not alcohol. If you drink just around the house five nights a week to the point of having three hours or so of unproductive thinking you will lose a full month off your life each year alone! That's quite a bit of wasted time that could have been spent on much better things such as reading a book, furthering your education, playing a sport or even starting a business.

One benefit of quitting drinking knows that you've beaten it. You can say that you have won, on your own out of your own self contained will power when you give up you know you did that. When you can say that you gave up 100% and you don't ever have alcohol anymore

There just some things to be proud of. Giving up alcohol is a mark of respect and regret to all those that have lost their lives to heart disease, alcohol poisoning, liver cancer and teenagers that drink and suffer death from over drinking. The fact that you survived your addiction and came through the other side is an achievement many have not been able to do.

You will become an early riser. Alcohol makes you feel tired when you want to feel energetic and awake. Ironically, it also increases wakefulness during sleep. If you do not quit drinking, alcohol will disturb your life. But when you succeed in quitting, you can get up early, and finish your plan. And, you won't get hangovers in the mornings but feel more energized when you wake up.
